Lead a new automation team, shape modern tooling, and drive AI and data innovation in a major tech environment! Build culture, unify engineers, and move the network into the future.
We’re partnering with a major telco provider to hire a Manager Network Automation for a newly formed engineering team in the Netherlands. This role brings together team leadership, technical direction, and the development of automation and data capabilities that will shape the network of the future.
You’ll unite engineers who previously worked across different clusters into one cohesive team, build a shared way of working, and lead the evolution of automation and data tooling. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching technical teams, driving modern engineering practices, and bringing clarity to a fast developing domain where AI and automation are growing quickly.
Your Day to Day: Strategy, Leadership and Engineering Direction

- Guide the development, delivery, and operations of automation tools, platforms, and workflows.
- Work with architects, product leadership, and stakeholders to shape and execute the automation and data roadmap.
- Support the consolidation of legacy applications and move toward scalable, modern platforms.
- Ensure network data is structured, stored, and usable for internal applications and AI driven use cases.
- Promote strong engineering practices including CI/CD, modern development principles, and automation first thinking.
- Introduce new ideas based on industry developments and challenge the team to explore emerging technologies.
- Identify skills gaps and create coaching or training plans to support team growth.
- Build a collaborative, learning oriented culture with experienced engineers who value guidance over directive management.
- Work closely with teams across network, infrastructure, and data to ensure alignment and delivery.
What You Bring (and What You’ll Grow Into)
- Experience managing IT development or automation engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of automation, CI/CD, software engineering fundamentals, and modern tooling.
- Interest in AI and data, especially how they can enhance automation and network operations.
- Comfort with network concepts or the ability to learn them quickly, supported by internal expertise.
- A coaching driven approach and the ability to unite people from different backgrounds.
- Strategic thinking paired with a practical, hands on mindset.
- Clear, confident communication, comfortable working with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
- Curiosity, authenticity, and a genuine desire to learn and help others grow.
Designed to Support You
- Hybrid working model with time in the office to collaborate with your team.
- A people centered culture that values curiosity, learning, and technical exploration.
- Strong focus on personal development with access to digital training and ongoing upskilling.
- 30 days of annual leave for full time employees, plus flexible and exchangeable holidays.
- Regular workshops, learning weeks, and team events that support growth and connection.
- An environment that encourages experimentation, coaching, and shared ownership.
